Soon to be premiered at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2 and 3, 2010 is the all new Mazda5. The all new Mazda5 will embrace the dynamic and elegant Nagare (meaning “flow” in Japanese) design and will emit about 15% less carbon dioxide than the current model thanks to Mazda’s new “i-stop” idling stop system, a direct injection gasoline engine and other technologies.
The all new Mazda5 will be the first model to adopt Mazda’s Nagare design language which was inspired from the flows found in nature. The new design is not just a look; it also increases aerodynamic characteristics with an outstanding drag coefficient and lift balance. The new Mazda5 will also increase functionality from the previous Mazda5 model with dual sliding rear doors and multiple seating arrangements. This will include a second row seat that can be converted to a versatile storage space.
The sportier and smoother ride the new Mazda5 provides will increase response in driver commands, enabling the whole family to travel in comfort and safety. The new Mazda5 will also provide new powertrain options which will include a 1.8L gas engine with a 6-speed transmission. The new Mazda5 is expected to be a hit for families who need a small fuel efficient van-like vehicle.
Commenting on the announcement of the new Mazda5, Bill Hunter, says “The all new Mazda5 will begin a huge step for Mazda and their new flow design. Knowing how US customers are changing their driving habits, in Maryland and Delaware we expect the new Mazda5 to be a hit once it arrives in the United States. I think Maryland Mazda and Delaware Mazda buyers will be impressed with the new Mazda.”
